Daniel Butler wanted to turn his gap year kayaking instructor job into a full-time career and decided an Outdoor Leadership degree at UCLan would be the stepping stone.

After graduating in 2007, he now works for the University of Central Lancashire as a Demonstrator supporting tutors, most notably on a practical outdoor leadership module. Daniel also oversees health and safety during practical activities at UCLan's new outdoor centre, Ty'n Dwr Hall, in Llangollen, North Wales.
